Jason Champlin – HVPAF, Youth Orchestra Program Director

Jason Champlin is currently a High School orchestra director in the Monroe-Woodbury School District. Jason holds his Bachelor’s degree in Music Education from the Crane School of Music and his Master’s degree in Music Education from Boston University. He is a past conductor of NMEA Division 2 West, SCMEA Division 1 West, and NMEA Division 1 West orchestras, as well as the Bellport Youth Ensemble. He has been a guest clinician for the Patchogue-Medford School District’s district wide string night. Jason is a former district-wide select-orchestra conductor in the Connetquot School District. Jason is one of the past Executive Vice President of Festivals for the Suffolk County Music Educators Association. Jason has also held the position of Assistant Vice President in the east division of SCMEA and has been a chairperson for the Division II East and Division III West orchestras.

Fall 2025 Semester Info

The Hudson Valley Performing Arts Foundation Youth Orchestra provides an exceptional opportunity for outstanding orchestra students from Hudson Valley schools to make music together. Rehearsals take place in the fall of each school year and culminate in a final concert performance. Students rehearse and perform a wide variety of music, from contemporary works to the classics. The final weekend of performances includes a special performance by the New York Wind Symphony. The HVPAF Youth Orchestra is sponsored by Hudson Valley Performing Arts Foundation.  Membership in the orchestra is by invitation and/or teacher recommendation, with the registration during the spring and summer months.
